Who we are

PetsMatchy (also shown in the app as PawMate) is a mobile app for pet owners and veterinarians. The operator’s legal entity name is TODO: legal entity name. Until that is filled in, contact us at [email protected].

Information we collect in the app

We collect what you provide and what the app needs to run the features you use:

Location

If you grant location permission, the app can read your device location (and reverse-geocode an address) to show nearby vets, pick a map pin, or attach a place to a pet or post. Map tiles are loaded from a public tile provider. Approximate coordinates may be rounded in the picker (on the order of ~100 meters) to reduce precision. Location is not required to create an account, but some map features will not work without it.

Photos and on-device checks

You can pick photos from the camera roll (with permission). Images are compressed on device and uploaded to object storage. On Android and iOS, the app may run on-device image labeling (Google ML Kit) to check that a photo looks like a pet. That labeling runs on the device; we do not send those photos to Google for that check. On web, that check is skipped.

Push notifications

If you allow notifications, we use OneSignal to deliver them (matches, messages, likes, comments, follows, appointments, and similar events). That involves a push subscription / device token and your notification preferences. You can change preferences in the app or disable notifications in system settings.

Device lock (biometrics)

Optional Face ID / fingerprint lock is stored on the device (local authentication and secure storage). We do not upload your biometric data to PetsMatchy servers.

How we use information

Who we share with

We do not sell your personal information. We use service providers to operate the app:

Other users see what your visibility settings allow (for example a public profile, posts, and pet photos). Blocked users are restricted according to the app’s block rules.

Retention

We keep account and content data while your account is open. If you delete your account in the app, we run a deletion flow that removes the account (password confirmation is required). Copies in backups or logs may remain for a short period until those systems rotate. You can also delete individual posts you created, and unlink or replace photos by editing your profile.

Your choices

Children

PetsMatchy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

International processing

Our providers may process data in the United States, the EU, or other regions where they operate. If you use the app from Tunisia or elsewhere, your information may be transferred to those regions.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes should also be reflected in the App Store and Google Play privacy listings.
